Dear Members,

Following the great success of the 2019, 2022, and 2024 editions, we are pleased to announce that the call for recipes for the IFSO Cookbook 4.0 is open!

We invite you to contribute by submitting recipes suitable for people undergoing Metabolic Bariatric Surgery or living with overweight or obesity.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

Please submit your recipe/s to info@ifso.com by March 31, 2026

RECIPE EVALUATION CRITERIA

Submitted recipes will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

🥬 Accurate nutritional composition and suitability for people living with overweight or obesity, or for patients who have undergone bariatric surgery
🍆 Originality
🥕 Ease of preparation
🥦 Quality of presentation

LIVE COOKING CONTEST & AWARD

The authors of the two highest-scoring recipes will participate in a live cooking contest during IFSO 2026 in Toronto 🍁

The winner of the first prize will receive free registration for IFSO 2027 in Paris 🇫🇷

The two finalists of the IFSO Bariatric Masterchef at IFSO 2024 in Melbourne were Dina Marquez from Chile with the recipe "Crab and avocado timbale with lettuce" and Ola Budny from Poland with "High protein pancakes with apple".

Both won a free registration to attend IFSO 2025 in Santiago del Chile.

BARIATRIC MASTERCHEF AT IFSO2022 MIAMI

The Bariatric Masterchef at IFSO 2022 Miami ended with an ex aequo of the 2 recipes:

High-protein gimbap performed by Sang Hyun Kim and his team from the Bariatric surgery center, Soonchunhyang university Seoul hospital.

Red beans creamy chili performed by Ana laura Cattaneo, Nutritionist at COCIB Clinica de Obesidad y Cirugía Bariátrica Dominican Republic
