Today, the IFSO organization is thriving. The continued prosperity rests squarely on the
administrative and management skills of Manuela Mazzarella and her dedicated team. Together,
they flawlessly orchestrate the complex daily activities of a global medical federation, from
coordinating high-stakes Executive Board meetings to managing the intricate logistics of large
global and chapter conferences.
The history of IFSO over the past thirty years is a testament to surgical innovation, but its survival and
continuous expansion as a powerful global institution is a direct result of the administrative
renaissance initiated in 2010.
